Shop Local...

Today was Little Boxes Friday here in Portland
and tomorrow is national Small Business Saturday.
If you are doing your holiday gift shopping be
sure to support your local business owners.
They are the backbone to all of our communities
and they are your neighbors.
Plus you will find unique and personal gifts that
aren't found in every mall. Think how happy all
your friends and family will be.
So, check out your own neighborhood or go to one
you normally don't visit and shop local, eat local and drink local!

Fall Entry...

So, this image seems to be making the rounds in the
blog-o-sphere world and after the 10th time I saw it
I realized why...it's down right brilliant and beautiful.

I believe in embracing the moment and the current season,
this means fall and the coming weeks leading to Thanksgiving
until December 21st or so.

This picture encompasses the seasons feeling.

Enjoy!

Barber Shop...

On Monday I got an email marked highly important from a friend needing help.
She was put on a project to source items and vendors to set up an old school barber shop
for an event in San Francisco and she didn't have a clue where to start.
So, she reached out to me knowing that I love vintage, have a few ideas where to find it
and have the experience in propping and styling events like this.

The catcher to all this was one, I have a full time job so this would have to be in addition and two
we had one week to find it all and get it shipped to San Francisco. Not impossible but good god,
not going to be easy without some creative sourcing.

I am happy to say I think we have done it. Still looking for a retro colored TV that works and
some smaller items that can be sourced on site. On top of it all we were able to source it all
on the West coast knowing that with Sandy playing pick up sticks with the East coast we weren't going to be able to get anything out of the East.

It was a fun project and I love my friend for one asking and two her humor through it all.
In this business if you can't laugh at the crazy's then you aren't going to survive.
