Junking dogs...

I love this time of year for so many reasons.
One of my favorite is the appearance of free piles on
sidewalks all over town.
I have found some of my best free junk pieces
either out running in the early morning or
out walking my dogs.
Now my dogs seem to have a nose for good junk.
Really, they do.

Now that Laddy is gone I wasn't sure if Diesel
could do it on his own. They worked best as a team.
But my sweet ol' boy still has it in him, even solo.

Junk sniffing dog extraordinaire,  Diesel..

Pink cabinet doors and a drawer...

I'm thinking pink framed chalk boards and maybe a small cabinet
out of reclaimed wood and these as doors.
And well the drawer, you can always find a good use for a drawer
especially one in pink.

So, how did he do?
I'm pretty proud of my boy.

Let's hear it for Spring and Summer!

Saying Goodbye...

My heart beats still today
as I said goodbye to my
sweet boy...

Christmas morning...

Christmas has got to be one of our favorite days of the year.
I can actually say it is my husbands favorite day of the year.
He starts planning for the next year the day after.
We don't have two legged kids, we have four legged.
So, we spoil ourselves and our sweet boys.

For years I worked in Retail and really didn't appreciate
Christmas as I lived the hell of retail for two months.
Now that I have been in the civilian world for the last 6 years
I go all out knowing it is my husbands favorite day of the year.

I thought I would share a little bit of our Christmas morning.

Stockings stuffed

Santa was here...

A little bit of vintage...

Stockings for the boys!

The morning wouldn't be quite right without a big fire!

My Mr. O's fabulous wrapping skills!

Laddy digging into his stocking.

 Diesel in his stocking

My two favorite presents, both vintage of course!

We start the day with coffee, then after working up a hunger we
make eggnog panettone french toast and bacon for breakfast
then once all done and surrounded by gifts
we have lunch.
There are no calories on Christmas day.

I hope your Christmas was a wonderful day filled with much joy and love.
Till next year!

the loo...

there are so many rooms in a house
and we talk about them all the time
except for the bathroom; this one we
tend not to want to address.
so often people do "up" their
bathrooms in white.  don't get me
wrong i like a white loo, there is something
so fresh about a white loo but it's usually
one of the smallest rooms in the house
which means you can try anything and
if you don't like it it won't take much
to change it.
i have a pink tub in my bathroom with white
tile so what wall there was got a coat of
pink paint. it's fun and whimsical and
my mr. "O" doesn't mind. he likes the
fun of the pink.

here are a few to inspire your loo:

so try something fun or different
then you normally would and
see what happens.
