Organizing...

Spring is just around the corner (Yay!) and that means for many spring cleaning/organizing. Sometimes I think this might be better for those short winter days but you know there is no wrong time to clean and organize.
To be successful one needs the right tools. I have a few ideas what those can be and they are perfect for any home or room, really.

Vintage Signs...

I love the old signage that peppered our country from coast to coast.
They don't make them like they use to...these would be fabulous hanging on a wall
continuing to tell their stories.

Metal...

For those of you that know me, you know I love me a little metal.

the warmth...
the patina...
the way it reflects light...
how it can go with any style...

It's so versatile and fun to play with when designing any room in the house...

I imagine the chairs around the dining table, the lights over the kitchen island and the lockers in the entry way for outerwear...

Next time you find a piece of metal that you just aren't sure what to do with...go ahead, buy it!
You will eventually find it's home, it will speak to you and you will be soooo happy you did it.

Picking gods...

This weekend the picking gods were smiling down on us.
We had so much fun picking...there was something amazing at
each stop we made, really! It made it that much more fun as we
tried to figure out where and how we were going to cram one more
thing into the car. One guy told us we looked like the Beverly Hill Billies,
we took it as a complement.

Stars Antique Mall...

This weekend is the Expo Antique show which means Stars pulls out all the stops and has a BIG sale starting tomorrow through Sunday at Stars, Splendid and Stars Too!
This was inspiration to do a complete re-haul on my space at Stars Antiques. Our booth is going to be 20% off all four days. So if you are planning on going to Expo be sure to save some time to stop by Stars Antique Malls!

I love working in my booth merchandising and telling stories. It's part of the joy of what I do. It's almost as much fun as the hunt. Can't wait till I can get back in next week to tell more stories.

Remnants of the Past...

One week from today we will be all set up for

Remnants of the Past

vintage market in 

San Luis Obispo.

We are so excited, honored and yes I will admit

a bit nervous.

Shoot people, there will be the best of the best

of the west selling the most amazing

vintage and antique finds there

and lil' ol' us from good ol' Portland, OR

will be selling our Northwest glamping vintage finds.

 ...and we can't wait!!!!!

Bicycles...

Today I stopped by a garage sale while out walking with my

dog Diesel and we stumbled upon a garage sale.

The guy who was holding the garage sale use to own

a local neighborhood bike shop and he was

selling off some of his vintage bike collection.

Now, they weren't necessarily garage sale prices 

but they were beautiful.

It got me thinking about old bikes and how do you show

them for all their fun, quirky style.
