or will hold things in.

with that being said, i tend not to say

no to a tool box or tackle box

which means there will be plenty this weekend

to choose from at

then there is all the enamel wear that

is perfect in pretty much every room in the house

including the yard!

collections....

lately i keep reading, seeing and hearing about peoples

collections....

i wondered, what do i collect....

other then weight?

i realized i'm not a collector by nature

but there are a few things i tend to accumulate

unknowingly but i tend not to clump them together

in my home. they live organically through out.

maybe that's why i haven't noticed i do collect.

books....

boxes....

old  & vintage textiles....

then there are the collections i have inherited

(these tend to live together)

old wood cookie molds....

spoons....

delft blue....

art reflective of anything dutch....

these were my dad's and i haven't added to them,

it feels like cheating or something.

these were his and should stay his 

even though they have become part of my life.

i looked around and found a few vintage collections

i could see getting obsessed about.

i can see how someone can get enthralled
with a item, the hunt for it and the thrill of the catch
all to bring it home amongst their other trophies.

well, i don't really think anything in Texas is little

but this sweet lady has a way with vintage.

i truly believe she has an in with the junking gods

cuz she is finding the good stuff....

maybe it's a Texas thing....

rusty industrial....

i love anything with a good patina or some quality rust.

two weeks ago my mom went to an estate sale for me

and found some great rusty industrial pieces with the 

perfect patina on them.

crackers and tobacco tins....

it's off to work we go....

 

the little attention to detail on the latch....

 

sturdy and perfect patina tool box....

small brass telling time....

take a look at the brass box....

 

 any ideas to what it may be?

i'm guessing a ink well box....

the owner used it for jewelry.

carry all box....

old tv and radio tubes....

like silver candy....

 

metal crate for?

but it does have  spot to hold your thermos....

 

good ol' fashion rust....

i see lavender in the milk jug and wood in the copper bin....

 

happy junking to all this week.

i am off to the big apple with my sweety to

celebrate our 20th anniversary.

that's right we met when we were 12.
